Battery Swapping for Electric Vehicles

Do you want to change the world? Ample, Inc. is a pioneer in the electric vehicle space that is developing a new way to deliver energy to any electric vehicle. At Ample we use advanced robotics to enable fast modular battery swapping that is as fast, as cheap, and as convenient as gas. We are a team of technologists, designers, and environmental enthusiasts who believe this problem to be among the most critical challenges of our time. Join Ample and help us make this a reality for billions of vehicles.

ABOUT the role

Ample, Inc. seeks a Power Electronics Engineer to work on cutting edge automotive electronic products for mass production. As a power electronics engineer on our team you love solving challenging problems for real-world applications. You will be working in close collaboration with other engineers towards the design and development of the next generation of intelligent battery controller - a controller which will change the way energy is transferred from the batteries to the vehicle. You will own the hardware from design phase, to implementation, to testing and deployment.

You will:

  • Collaborate with the team in all phases of product design, from the concept and architecture definition, development and validation testing to the introduction into production
  • Perform schematic and circuit board layout design, product packaging and assembly
  • Perform product risk assessment reviews for EMC and identify applicable EMC tests to satisfy EMC homologation, and regulatory compliance
  • Analyze 2D/3D electromagnetic phenomena using ANSYS/COMSOL tools and in-house developed tools

Our team is highly collaborative - we work in the San Francisco Mission District (near Caltrain and Bart). All employees are fully vaccinated against COVID-19; anyone working for Ample MUST be fully vaccinated before starting.
